Eden Prairie residents and businesses show their support to the Eden Prairie Community Foundation in a multitude of ways. They attend a Foundation event, make a donation, create a philanthropic fund at EPCF, establish a legacy gift, and more.
Pastor Rod and Julane Anderson – who have been a part of Eden Prairie since 1977 – give in all of those ways, and Pastor Rod also chairs the organization’s Development Committee.
“Eden Prairie has been so good to me and my family! No other phrase captures more fully the motivation for my giving,” said Pastor Rod. “It expresses the source of my gratitude and the inspiration to act on that grateful feeling. A very important friend of mine had a signature phrase with which she concluded nearly every conversation: ‘I am so very thankful!’ Those were the last words I heard her say to me with her dying breath!
“Philanthropy begins with gratitude and it continues because giving money and time makes a necessary difference in others’ lives and yours,” he added. “For 25 years I led and facilitated a weekly job transition support and networking group with one key underlying hope … that everyone would come to believe that they could help another human being.
“Giving in and through the Eden Prairie Community Foundation fulfills our underlying mission, ‘Enriching Our Community through Philanthropy, Collaboration and Leadership.’ Along with so many others in our community, I ask you to join in the giving!”
