The Eden Prairie Community Foundation’s 2018 grants don’t become official until they’re presented April 28 to respective organizations, but we can share the general areas to which we’re devoting resources this year:
- Fresh, nutritious foods for those in need
- Technology to make nonprofits operate more efficiently
- Increased awareness about what Eden Prairie services are available
- After-school tutoring and summer STEM programs
- Help to young people with no stable housing
These have evolved as priorities for 2018 after lengthy work by the Foundation’s experienced and knowledgeable Grant Committee and the organization’s board of directors.
They meet our general funding guidelines, rank high against other grant requests, and at least one of these – increased awareness of services – addresses a service gap recently identified through a needs assessment conducted by the Family Resources Program of Eden Prairie Schools Community Education.
You can be sure the Foundation is working hard to get supporters’ dollars to where they’re needed most and can make a difference in Eden Prairie. Thanks for helping make this happen.
If you’d like to hear more about where we’re devoting resources, then please attend our annual EP Gives event from 6-11:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center in Chaska. You’ll hear directly from the organizations tackling the issues listed above.
