The Eden Prairie Community Foundation is helping young people, so that our future is in good hands.
One example is the Talon Robotics camps offered to youngsters this summer. Talon Robotics is a competitive robotics team at Eden Prairie High School, and through Eden Prairie Community Education it offers summer Robotics Camps where youngsters dive into the world of robotics.
Robotics team members and adult mentors help implement the classes, boosting kids’ STEM skills. A 2016 grant from the Eden Prairie Community Foundation is helping Talon Robotics expand its summer offerings, so more kids can take part.
Another example of the Foundation supporting youth development is the “Eagles Give Back” summer camps started last year through Eden Prairie Community Education, with the help of a Foundation grant. The camps last year helped more than 40 Eden Prairie children ages 4-12 get to know the nonprofit world and understand the concept of “giving back.”
The youngsters got acquainted with and contributed to local nonprofits including The PROP Shop, PROP, Meals on Wheels, and the Carver County Humane Society.
The Foundation is proud to have helped fund these camps and pass along some lifelong skills to youngsters.
