There’s a lot of accountability that comes with being a nonprofit organization, and rightly so.
If you’re a donor, you want to be sure that the nonprofit accepting your goodwill is responsible with the money and delivering on its mission.
You want to feel confident that donations are making an impact, and that the organization’s board of directors is diligently providing guidance.
The Eden Prairie Community Foundation is dedicated to continuous improvement in these areas, and so this week we add to our website the 2016 Annual Report, which provides an overview of financials and what was accomplished last year.
You won’t find a glossy copy of this report in print. To keep costs low, we’re providing only an online PDF copy. As the organization grows, we hope to more widely disseminate our annual report.
Likewise, the financials included in this report reference our latest audit and Form 990, which are located in PDF form elsewhere on the website. This helps us keep the annual report brief, able to be read in just a few minutes.
Finally, this is the first time we’ve tried to provide a comprehensive and cumulative list of year-long giving to the Foundation. In previous years we’ve typically highlighted only the donors from our mid-year Century Giving campaign.
This new approach is more responsible, we feel. Not an A-plus effort, perhaps, but a big improvement over what we’ve provided in the past. Next year’s report should be even better.
If you find any errors in the donor list, or elsewhere in this report, please contact us at [email protected] or (952) 949-8499 so we can promptly make a correction. Of course, we welcome any feedback you have.
