The Eden Prairie Community Foundation has a 36-year history as a grant maker: more than 500 grants totaling nearly $2 million to 84 different organizations serving people who live or work in Eden Prairie. But, not every grant application submitted to the Foundation is funded. The fact is, more unmet needs could be filled with the help of community support.
Eden Prairie residents and businesses are being asked to keep this in mind as they consider end-of-the-year charitable contributions, including donations via the Give to the Max campaign culminating Nov. 16.
Everything the Foundation accomplishes is owed to people and companies who financially support our work. But the needs keep coming, and so we ask you to consider supporting the Foundation’s work and operations as 2017 comes to a close.
In fact, you can double the impact of your donation to the Foundation. That’s because Foundation board and committee members have collectively pledged more than $4,000 if the community matches or exceeds that number. This is the Foundation’s annual Leadership Challenge, a way of doubling your support.
You can make sure the Foundation’s work continues and critical needs are filled by supporting the Foundation with a year-end donation. Contributions can be made on this website, via the Foundation’s page on GiveMN.org (where you can also contribute directly to organizational funds kept at the Foundation), or by sending a check to: Eden Prairie Community Foundation, 8080 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
The Foundation is among more than 10,000 nonprofits and schools participating in Give to the Max Day on Nov. 16. The statewide giving campaign is organized by GiveMN, which links donors with organizations that are working to make Minnesota a better place. To date, donors have given more than $160 million through GiveMN.
Its online giving website, GiveMN.org enables charitable giving any time and any place, allowing people to donate with ease and enthusiasm. On the Foundation’s page you will see descriptions of the many projects and funds it sponsors: Eden Prairie Reads, Friends of the EP Players, Interfaith Circle, EP Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, EP Youth Housing, and more. You can also pay the credit-card processing fees that would otherwise reduce your donation.
Please give now. For more information about the Foundation’s year-end appeal, please contact the executive director, Mark Weber, at (952) 949-8499 or [email protected].
