More critical needs are addressed in Eden Prairie because there is a community foundation.
Did you know that the Eden Prairie Community Foundation is one of only about 800 community foundations nationwide? Where they exist, more philanthropy is encouraged and nurtured to address important local needs.
For example, thanks to local support, the Foundation has given about $2 million to 100 different nonprofits and other organizations serving Eden Prairie – local groups tackling projects that otherwise might not get done. Projects in social services, arts and culture, education, youth development, and recreation and the environment.
Last year alone, the Foundation awarded 52 grants totaling about $330,000, thanks to the generosity of donors like you, our charitable fund holders, and the small organizations we sponsor.
It helps explain why Eden Prairie is often rated as one of the best cities in the U.S. to live, work, raise kids, and retire.
Your generous support makes it happen, and we’re so grateful.
Now, as we reach the end of 2019 and look ahead to a new year, we’re asking you to consider a year-end gift that will allow that kind of impact to continue. Whether you give on Nov. 14, the statewide online giving day known as Give to the Max Day, or you give with a traditional check dropped in the mail before the end of the year, the Foundation appreciates your support.
If you’ve given before to our year-end appeal, any increase in your giving is being matched by our Foundation leaders until their $10,000 match is exhausted. Foundation board members, committee members, and fund holders are providing this Leadership Challenge to motivate many others to give generously.
You can be assured that your donation will be used wisely and will get to where it’s needed most. We’re a small organization, but our one staff member and volunteer board collectively have hundreds of years of experience with and knowledge about Eden Prairie. We know where the needs are, so you don’t have to.
If you like, you can also give on this website. Donations of stock are welcomed, as are planned gifts where you name the Foundation in your will or estate. Meanwhile, we’ll keep working hard to address unfilled needs in Eden Prairie. Because that’s what a community foundation does.
