The 2020 EP Gives fundraising event that was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic has been rescheduled for Oct. 24.
You might ask why the Foundation would postpone rather than cancel the event, in light of all the uncertainty about when things will get back to normal. While don’t know what October will bring, pandemic-wise, we believe it’s important to keep the possibility of holding this event alive. Because:
- Gathering annually to celebrate Eden Prairie’s philanthropy is good for the community to do, never more so than in 2020.
- Post-pandemic, we’ll be anxious to commune, to celebrate – to just give someone a hug, really.
- The Foundation has a strong base of support – especially businesses and individuals who have already committed to sponsoring 2020 EP Gives – that we want to share with Eden Prairie. (Our sponsors are listed on this flyer.)
- EP Gives is an important fundraiser for the Foundation, one that not only supports its operation but also its grants program.
Wouldn’t it be great if EP Gives were the first big event of Eden Prairie’s recovery phase? What a community healing experience that could be!
Until then, we plan to carefully assemble the best event possible. We have our venue: Marriott Hotel Southwest in Minnetonka. We have our emcee: Channel 9 morning TV anchor Tom Butler. We have our band: The Dap Squad. We have our auctioneer: Jim Fahey.
All we need is the “all clear” … and you!
