Are you looking for a way to give back to Eden Prairie? If so, we have just the event for you: The GIVE Gathering.
This open-house-style volunteer fair is returning Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Central Middle School, 8025 School Road. That’s a brand new location for this event, and coincides with that evening’s public tours of the newly remodeled school building.
What is The GIVE Gathering?
Well, GIVE stands for Gather to Inspire Volunteer Engagement, and The GIVE Gathering is an effort by the Eden Prairie Community Foundation, Eden Prairie Schools’ Community Education, and the City of Eden Prairie’s Parks & Recreation Department to promote volunteerism.
A couple dozen nonprofits and civic organizations serving Eden Prairie will have their volunteer opportunities on display during the event, so you can “shop” and find the one that’s perfect for you, whether it’s a one-time volunteer task or ongoing involvement.
You can chat with people from these organizations, and learn more about their mission and need for help.
Stop in anytime between 6 and 8 p.m. on Sept. 30. The event is indoors, but in a large, open area in order to provide ample space for each organization as well as attendees. Other COVID mitigation strategies may be implemented based on public health guidance at the time of the event.
Nonprofits that are scheduled to appear include Meals on Wheels, Eden Prairie TreeHouse, Let’s Go Fishing Eden Prairie, Bridging, Senior Community Services, The PROP Shop, and many more.
So, c’mon out and learn how you can make your community and the world a better place, and have fun doing it.
Admission is free of charge.
