Greetings from the Eden Prairie Community Foundation! It’s an exciting time of year for us here at the Foundation. Our annual report is being compiled and we’re getting ready for our biggest fundraiser of the year: EP Gives.
Gearing Up for the Gala
Did you know our 45th Annual EP Gives Gala is just 8 weeks away? That might seem like a long time, but it’s sure to fly by. Our Gala committee is hard at work planning and doing outreach in the community to make it our best event yet.
For more than 40 years, EPCF has worked tirelessly to provide critical funding to make the city a welcoming and accessible community for everyone. The Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in contributions for community support such as:
- Meals and produce for residents, including homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- Food support for Eden Prairie families and schoolchildren.
- Scholarships for local youth.
- Emergency support and household goods for families living in poverty.
- Support for seniors and their caregivers.
- Services for homeless families, youth, and victims of domestic violence.
- Funding for Eden Prairie services, arts, parks, and recreational facilities.
If you haven’t already, purchase your tickets on our event website www.epgives.org. The proceeds from ticket sales stay right here in Eden Prairie and help us fund the important causes that make it a better place for every resident.
You can also sponsor the event if you want to make an even bigger impact! We are currently accepting individual and corporate sponsors. Read our Sponsorship Packet for all the details.
Thanks, Eden Prairie Lifestyle Magazine!
We’re so honored to be featured in the March issue of the Eden Prairie Lifestyle magazine! In the article, our Executive Director, Greg Leeper, shares more about the foundation and the important work we’re doing in the community. You can read the article on the Eden Prairie Lifestyle website!
Meet the Board: Deepak Ganapathy
Deepak Ganapathy is the Chair of the Board of EPCF. In addition, he works at Danfoss Power Solutions as Vice President/General Manager in the Hydrostatics Division.
When he started at the Foundation five years ago as a volunteer, he was very excited about the opportunity to bring his business skills in strategic planning to a non-profit environment. Deepak says, “I am proud of the work we have done in developing a strong, long term strategic plan and developing a compelling vision for the Foundation.”
Over time, he has had the opportunity to see the impact the Foundation has on nonprofits and the less privileged within Eden Prairie. Deepak says, “As someone who immigrated from India and has called Eden Prairie home for many years, it has been deeply satisfying for me to stay connected to the community through the Foundation.”
Deepak loves the people in the EP community, finding them warm and welcoming. He also appreciates the diversity in Eden Prairie. Though EP is many miles from India, he and his family are thankful for the strong local Indian community that helps them stay connected to their roots. Deepak also loves the quality of life with the fantastic schools, neighborhoods, parks and recreation, and all the amenities.
“My friends joke that I never leave Eden Prairie because I tell them everything I need is right here in Eden Prairie!”
